Homescholars was an idea that came out of  a need.  Many homeschooling mothers, including myself, wanted a place they could take their children to receive a couple of extra curricular classes and have a little free time to do, well, whatever they wanted!  Some wanted to focus on older children for a couple of hours, some wanted to go to appointments or clean their house, while others simply wanted some quiet time.  We still want to school our own children but give kids the extras they need while mom or dad takes a few hours off.

I started praying about how to make this happen.  My answer came immediately with one mom after another expressing that they desperately needed something like this. 

So here we are, working to make this happen in the fall.  Things are not perfect and never will be.  We will meet at Wilson's Mills Baptist Church, for about 4 hours a week. 

I want it to be whatever God wants it to be.  Art, music, and Spanish with plenty of "socialization" and fun are my goals for our group.  I'm just a mom with a desire to serve and fulfill a need.

 

God has blessed and we are having an awesome semester!  The children are learning a lot about Music, Art, and Spanish and making great friends!  I encourage your comments, prayers and suggestions as we move along.  I look forward to meeting all parents and future students!!

 

What a blessing this program has been!  The teachers have done a GREAT job!  The children have learned and made friends while moms got some things done and made some friends as well!  I consider all of the moms friends!  Thanks!  Oh yeah, what a great group of kids!  I'm so excited for the upcoming semester!  The kids are going to love it!
